We’ve noticed something about the people who ask us for this retreat. They rarely say they want a holiday. They say they want to relax and breathe again — properly, without checking a phone between exhales. So we didn’t build a yoga retreat that happens to visit India. We built a slow, deliberate return to something most of us have simply misplaced — through mornings that start with movement instead of a to-do list, evenings that close with sound instead of scrolling, and ten days spent inside a country that has spent thousands of years thinking seriously about stillness.
Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra come first — not skipped, not rushed, just held a little more gently than a typical circuit would hold them. Then the road climbs into the Himalayan foothills, the air changes, and Rishikesh appears the way it always does: quietly, on the banks of a river that has never once been in a hurry. Ten days won’t fix anything. But they might remind you what it feels like to not need fixing. Come tired. Leave lighter. That’s usually enough.
India has always been a place people come to in search of something. This retreat is designed for those who want to find it — gently, without pressure, in the company of others on the same path. Over ten days, the journey moves through two distinct worlds. The first is the Golden Triangle — Delhi’s layered streets, Jaipur’s royal palaces, the timeless marble of the Taj Mahal — experienced not as a rush of sightseeing, but as a mindful encounter with India’s cultural and historical depth.
The second is Rishikesh, set in the foothills of the Himalayas where the Ganges runs cold and clear, the ashrams line the riverbank, and the air carries something that is difficult to name but easy to feel. Each morning begins with yoga — beginner-friendly, unhurried, attentive to breath and body. Each evening closes with sound healing, pranayama, meditation, or Swara Yoga practices that offer genuine tools for stillness. The retreat is led by experienced teachers trained in traditional yoga and holistic wellness practices, and is designed to be as accessible to complete beginners as it is deepening for those with an existing practice. This is not a tour with yoga added. It is a retreat that moves through one of the world’s most extraordinary countries.

Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel. After check-in and rest, join the group for a welcome circle — an opportunity to introduce yourself, set intentions for the retreat, and begin to arrive fully in the journey ahead. Evening Session: Gentle Breath Awareness Practice · Introduction to Swara Yoga · Relaxation Meditation
Morning Session: Beginner-Friendly Hatha Yoga · Pranayama for Energy and Focus After breakfast, step into the city. Drive past India Gate — the great sandstone arch at the ceremonial heart of New Delhi — before climbing into a cycle-rickshaw and weaving through the lively lanes of Old Delhi. The markets of Chandni Chowk, the spice traders, the silver shops, the sweet-makers: this is Delhi at its most alive, and most ancient. Evening Session: Sound Healing Journey · Guided Relaxation and Yoga Nidra
Morning Session: Sunrise Yoga Practice · Breathwork for Travel and Grounding After breakfast, the road turns southwest into Rajasthan — the landscape gradually shifting to the drier, sun-warmed terrain of the desert kingdom. Arrive in Jaipur, the Pink City, and check in. The afternoon is for settling in and resting before the evening practice. Evening Session: Swara Yoga: Understanding the Breath Cycles · Balancing Breath Practices · Sound Bath Meditation
Morning Session: Gentle Flow Yoga · Joint Mobility and Breath Synchronisation After breakfast, spend a full day in the Pink City. Ride a Jeep up to Amber Fort — the majestic hilltop fortress where Rajput military genius and Mughal decorative sensibility meet in its mirrored halls and carved courtyards. Continue to the City Palace, still home to the royal family of Jaipur; Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century observatory where enormous stone instruments once tracked the movements of the heavens with extraordinary precision; and Hawa Mahal — the Palace of Winds — its 953 latticed windows one of the most recognisable facades in India. The afternoon takes you into Jaipur’s craft world — textile factories, carpet workshops, and gemstone cutting and polishing centres where traditional artistry continues without interruption. Evening Session: Chakra Balancing Sound Healing · Guided Meditation
Morning Session: Yoga for Flexibility and Relaxation · Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing) After breakfast, the road east carries the group toward Agra — a city that still carries the full weight of its Mughal past. Upon arrival, visit Agra Fort, the great red sandstone citadel that served as the seat of Mughal power for generations. Continue to a marble inlay workshop, where craftsmen press semi-precious stones into white marble using techniques unchanged since the 17th century — the same art that adorns the surface of the Taj Mahal. Evening Session: Deep Relaxation Breathwork · Singing Bowl Sound Healing
The morning belongs to one of the world’s most extraordinary sights. Rise early for sunrise at the Taj Mahal. In the first light, the white marble shifts from pale grey to rose to brilliant white — Shah Jahan’s monument to eternal love, still capable of silencing a crowd. After breakfast, the road north leads toward the Himalayas and Rishikesh — a journey of roughly six hours during which the landscape changes completely. The plains give way to forested foothills, the air cools, and the Ganges, running fast and clear from the mountains, comes into view. Arrive and settle into your retreat accommodation by the river. The pace changes here. Let it.
Evening Session: Sunset Breathwork Practice by the River · Sound Healing Session
Morning Session: Shat Karma Kriya: Jal Neti (traditional yogic nasal cleansing) · Yoga Practice on the Ghat · Introduction to Yogic Breathing Techniques After breakfast, visit the Beatles Ashram — the former Maharishi Mahesh Yogi retreat where the Fab Four famously spent several weeks in 1968, and where meditation spaces and striking spiritual murals still fill the forested compound. The rest of the morning is free for riverside walks, exploration of Rishikesh’s cafés and bookshops, or quiet personal reflection. As evening approaches, make your way to the ghats for the Ganga Aarti — one of the most spiritually charged ceremonies in India. Priests in saffron robes raise fire to the river as bells ring, petals float downstream, and the Ganges receives it all without pause. Evening Session: Sound Healing and Breath Awareness · Guided Meditation by the Ganges
Rise before dawn for the excursion to Kunjapuri Temple — a hilltop Shakti shrine perched high above the valley, reached by a short climb in the dark that opens, at the summit, onto one of the finest sunrise views in the Himalayan foothills. The mountains emerge from the night slowly, ridge by ridge, and the light that comes with them is unlike any other. Morning Session: Sunrise Yoga and Breath Awareness at Kunjapuri · Silent Meditation at the Temple After breakfast and a period of rest, visit Vasishta Gufa — one of the most revered meditation caves in the region, set into the hillside above the Ganges where the sage Vasishtha is said to have meditated. Time here is unstructured: for silence, for contemplation, for whatever kind of inner awareness the cave and the river invite. Evening Session: Mantra Chanting by the Ganga · Sound Healing Journey · Optional Kirtan and Group Reflection Circle
Morning Session: Closing Yoga Practice · Swara Yoga: Carrying the Practice into Daily Life · Integration Meditation After breakfast, the road carries the group back to Delhi — a five-hour drive that offers time to sit with everything the retreat has offered. Arrive in Delhi, check in at the hotel, and rest. The evening is yours — for a final dinner, a quiet walk, or simply the stillness that the past nine days have been building toward.
After a relaxed breakfast, transfer to Delhi Airport for your onward journey. You leave with more than memories: practical yoga tools and breathwork techniques to carry into daily life, the experience of sound healing and meditation in some of the most spiritually significant places in India, and — perhaps most importantly — a renewed sense of balance, clarity, and well-being that the journey was always meant to offer.
